NO, Acts records Cornelius was a centurian.
We also read that he was a devout man, and feared God.
Josephus in his writings points out to us that Jews also served in the
Roman
Army.
So your automatic assumption that Cornelius was a gentile is withour
foundation.
We have no idea what nationality he was.
But because Luke, a gentile made up that story, you automatically assume
that 1) Cornelius
was a gentile, and 2) that it actually happened.
