In the gospel of Christ
a righteousness is revealed
that is not our own,
nor comes by our efforts,
but is that of Christ
and comes by faith in him.
Because Christ took our place on the cross,
and took the penalty for all our sins,
his perfect righteousness
is regarded to be ours
who place all our faith for salvation in him
so that we have eternal life.
