A happy new year to all!
An idea has come into my head, it is not my own as the suggestion
that Teilhard de Chardin's theology impacts on the growing spirituality of
all of
those who use the Internet for that purpose has already been made.
(See the book "The Story of Christian Spirituality", gen.ed. Gordon
Mursell,
Lion Pub. 2001, esp.pgs 364/365, where a website survey by Jeff Zaleski is
discussed. I also guess there are many posts in newsgroups and
websites on the same subject, i.e. spirituality on the Internet, I just
haven't had time to find them yet -
perhaps someone can help me there?).
I am prompted to write this after
reading a post by Jim Sutton in alt.religion.christian.adventist entitled
'What's a christian to think?'. I have replied, asking why he chose to
post in the adventist ng. He has replied, saying he does post to other
groups but avoids cross-posting. My idea now is that he should be posting
in
as
many ng's as possible, albeit avoiding cross-posting, since his evangelism
is so powerful. We should not be
put off by the abuse we are going to get.
I taught in a school once in the
UK where the children spat at me.
The Plymouth Brethren have
nothing to do with computers, but individuals evangelize in the high
street.
We
should be in the world but not of it.
Jesus mixed with everyone and was crucified for it.
etc. etc.
After our day's mission we can all come back to
alt.religion.christian.home-church (thankfully moderated), or anywhere we
feel more comfortable, to recap and share
our experiences. What do you think!?
God bless you all in the Name of Jesus, Barry AC.
P.S. For a good introductory read of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, try
http://www.crosscurrents.org/chardin.htm
written by Charles P. Henderson.
P.P.S. I am new to ng postings, I guess I am writing to the converted.
Anyway, I hope there is something of interest here for some of you. BAC.
