AN arson attack in a church has left a congregation without a place to
wor****p for up to a month.
A firebug broke into the Greek Orthodox Community Church in Arthur St, St
Albans, spreading bibles and other books around the altar before setting
them alight.
Fire brigade crews were called to the scene at 9.35pm on Saturday.
The estimated damage was $40,000.
Boarders at a rooming house were also lucky to escape a fire in
Williamstown.
MFB crews said working smoke alarms and sprinklers not only saved the
historic Old Royal Rooming House from burning down, but saved lives.
