Brigham Young - October 7, 1857 (only weeks after the mountain meadows
massacre)
Their belief reminds me that brother Joseph B. Nobles once told a
Methodist priest, after hearing him describe his god (1), that the god
they worshipped was the "Mormons'" devil-a being without a body (2),
whereas our God has a body, parts, and passions (3). The Devil was
cursed and sent down from heaven. He has no body of his own; therefore
he is constantly endeavouring to obtain possession of the tabernacles
belonging to others. Some have grumbled because I believe our God to
be so near to us as Father Adam (4). There are many who know that
doctrine to be true. Where was Michael in the creation of this earth?
(5) Did he have a mission to the earth? He did. Where was he? In the
Grand Council, and performed the mission assigned him there. Now, if
it should happen that we have to pay tribute to Father Adam, what a
humiliating circumstance it would be! Just wait till you pass Joseph
Smith (6); and after Joseph lets you pass him, you will find Peter
(7); and after you pass the Apostles and many of the Prophets (8), you
will find Abraham (9), and he will say, "I have the keys, and except
you do thus and so, you cannot pass;" and after a while you come to
Jesus (10); and when you at length meet Father Adam, how strange it
will appear to your present notions. If we can pass Joseph and have
him say, "Here; you have been faithful, good boys; I hold the keys of
this dispensation; I will let you pass;" then we shall be very glad to
see the white locks of Father Adam (11). But those are ideas which do
not concern us at present, although it is written in the Bible-"This
is eternal life, to know thee, the only true God (12), and Jesus
Christ whom thou hast sent."
(1) Brigham Young had no respect for God the Father of
Christendom.
(2) Brigham Young equated God the Father of Christendom with
Satan.
(3) The Mormon father god is a man like Brigham Young who desired
sex with numerous women.
(4) Brigham Young declares that the Mormon father god is the
sinner Adam.
(5) Brigham Young declares that the Mormon father god was Michael
the Archangel before Eden.
(6) Mormons have to be approved for their heaven by Joseph Smith
the false prophet.
(7) Mormons then have to be approved by the Apostle Peter for
their heaven.
(8) Mormons then have to be approved by other apostles and
prophets for their heaven.
(9) Mormons then have to be approved by Abraham for their heaven.
(10) Mormons then have to be approved by their Jesus for their heaven.
(11) Mormons will finally have to be approved by their father god Adam
who was a sinner.
(12) Brigham Young declares that Adam the sinner is the true Mormon
god.
