Fellowship with the Father in heaven and his
son Jesus Christ is something extraordinarily
great. But many Christians, even good Christians,
do not understand it. It should not be merely that
we are united in the same Christian convictions,
organizing ourselves into a religious party of
some form or other, and training ourselves in a
Christian religious way with certain tenets and
rules. No! We should truly have fellowship with
the Father--that is, we should be in personal
touch with the One who made heaven and earth;
in personal touch with the One who, as the
Word of life, walked among people. That is what
the gospel, the simple proclamation of the Word,
should create among us, dear friends.
