November 18 "I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8 Here we have a happy man! If he has something on his heart he does it, and does it gladly! Concerning God's law: in our time we speak of God's law in the same sense as Jesus Christ did. It is always a matter of gentleness and humility without violence; neither despotism nor dictatorship, neither greed nor jealousy. Complete love and thankfulness toward God the Father--that is the Law. We have to keep this on our hearts; then we shall want it and will do it. Thus we come into a direct relationship with the Father and with Christ, he who helps us and is our advocate before God's countenance.
