November 11
In trust we can take seriously everything that the
Savior does for us, down to the smallest things.
We must see that every crumb that falls from
heaven has great significance for the world.
Hold firmly to this, for the very smallest of heavenly
things becomes finally the greatest thing, which
will eclipse the whole world.
In this our late father [Johann Christoph
Blumhardt] was faithful as few are. Before God
he held firmly to the very smallest things that
came to him, as blessings from God, both for
himself and for others, so that these should
never be lost. That is why he experienced so
many miracles. He treated as important even
small, insignificant beginnings of a breakthrough
by God, and he took every opportunity to
encourage these. Whenever something was
given, he regarded it as significant and took it
more seriously than anything the world had to
offer.
Let us listen to this. We must treasure all that is
divine, however and wherever we meet it.
Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt, from
Jesus Is Victor, An Anniversary.
