In early years, this oath of allegiance was passed on by word of mouth like

a military watchword. It could hardly have been written down at that time.

In its earliest form the confession was ninefold. In the following simple 
words it confessed the belief in God the Father, the Almighty; in Jesus
the 
Christ (or Messiah), his Son, our Lord; in the Holy Spirit; in the church;

and in the resurrection of the flesh (the transformation of matter for the

new kingdom).
