November 3 "I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds." Psalm 77:12 If we are truly observant we can always find traces of God's work. It happens all around us, in our hearts, and among those nearest to us. But if we are not very observant we notice nothing of it, just as with the Savior many did not see the working of God. We need to keep our eyes and ears open, and as soon as we perceive something that is God's work we should let it speak to our hearts and hold firm to it. If we focus only on the calamities of this world, those too will speak to our hearts, and we will find ourselves groaning and lamenting like the Israelites in the desert. God was saddened the most by this complaining. So let us rather say: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead!"
