Men often attribute everything that happens in the world to God; but this
is to do him an injustice. There are also works of man and of the devil.
These do harm, whereas the works of God always do good—indeed, it is by
this they are known. We are the ones responsible for so much that goes
awry
in the world. So lay off of my God, and don’t say, “He’s doing it!”
