It may be that there is one error that poisons most of our thinking about
God’s kingdom. Prevailing very widely, this is the understanding that, in
order for God’s kingdom to come, it is sufficient that we finally and
firmly establish and systematize the doctrine. This error works as a
poison
in that, from this perspective, certain doctrines and conventions soon
become almost more important than God himself.
It has become clear to me that no single, dogmatic, fixed, and
systematized
doctrine will decide the issue of the kingdom: this only the living God
himself will do.
