September 1 If we grasp that Jesus is the Savior of our lives, we can also believe him to be the power of God that leads all creation to the light. We can also relate the power of Jesus Christ to the whole of humankind. When I know Jesus--who he is, and what powers of God are revealed in him--then I not only have courage for myself, but also for others. Even if today many people refuse everything that helps toward their salvation because they do not understand anything about it, this does not make me lose courage. Instead I think, Just wait until you have been wrested from the clutches of death and your eyes are opened--then you will believe! This is what the name of Jesus must mean in the hearts of believers. In this lies the significance of the church of Christ on earth, the body of Christ that will fill all things with his glory!
