Hello all:
I was diagnosed Oct 01, 2005 after a massive rectal bleed at home on
Sept, 30 2005. My tumor was 3 cm inside my annus. The tumor was the size
of
a nokia cell phone. (Stage III Cancer) Because of the size and the
location
on Oct. 18th I had a divertive Colostomy performed. From there I was on
Pain
medications (Morphine as high as 500Mg a day right before my surgery to
remove it.) as the tumor grew. ( Up to the size of a 12oz soda can) In Mid
November
I received my implanted Cath.
It's in my right chest made from Titanium and Plastic. A 16 Gauge line
goes
into my artery in my neck and stops about 2 inches above my heart.
In Dec, I started High dose radiation and Chemo 5-FU. The chemo was
done
as a continuous feed from a chemo pump. Mon-Fri with the weekends off. I
did
this for 5 1/2 weeks. The tumor as a result of this treatment went from
the
size of a 12 oz soda can to the size of a golf ball.
On Feb. 6th 2006 I went in for surgery had my entire rectum removed,
my
annus, its control muscles and nerves. And my back end was sealed off
permanently. I was tested and found out that my Lymph nodes down there
were
6 for 7 positive for Andreonocaricnoma Cancer of the rectum placing me at
advanced Stage III. After being on my back for 2 whole months unable to
sit
due to my incisions I was finally able to sit. I had to learn how to walk
again. At this point I was 150 Lbs. In the beginning of this ordeal I
weighed in at 215Lbs I was an apprentice electrician, working outside in
the
AZ heat (110-115*F) had a real good tan. Was making good money and the
company was paying for my school at nights. Had a 97 average between 2
cl*****.
In April I had a PET scan and found out I had Cancer on my Liver Upper
Right Node. I went through 3 treatments Of Alliuxi Platinum and 5-FU. By
the
third treatment I was so Ill and now have sever pain in my back we stopped
the chemo. It was doing more harm than good. Also the cancer in my liver
was
still growing.
Today June, 28th 2006 I'm getting ready to have a high resolution CAT
scan done on 6/30/06 to prepare for my Liver surgery sometime in the nest
few weeks. They will resected my liver and I will loose 30-50% of it. The
liver however will regenerate in 6-8 Months. The issue is How long shall I
live? The cancer is moving North Organ by Organ. (Currently due to severe
back pain I'm taking 8mg hydromorphone every 6 hrs. A total of, 2-3
tablets
from afternoon to evening so I can sleep the night.)
I have lived with a genetic disorder all of my Life (Klinefelter's
Syndrome XXXY Karyotype) I'm not atypical for this disorder. God gave me a
good brain. I have BS degree in Science and also in Engineering, A minor
in
English, An associate Degree in Fire Science, Arson Investigation. Am
formerly a Volunteer fire fighter from Maine, USA for 10 Years. I have
lived
longer with my illness than the Dr's said I would live. More than 15 yrs
longer than most. So, I plan to Outlive This Cancer.
I am married to a wonderful woman Named: Na****ra (Nash for short)
She's
from Mexico City. We have been married since 3/12/05 and together for
nearly
3yrs. I have no plans to leave her. As I have stated to my friends and
doctors. I'm not here for myself, I FIGHT FOR MYWIFE.
