Women Preaching
I come from a denomination that believes women should not be preaching.
I am aware of what the Bible says regarding this. I am also aware there
are denominations that allow women preachers. We all know this….
My question is this, if some women ARE in fact preaching, and are being
blessed, and people are coming to the Lord as a result of their
ministry, is it POSSIBLE that that scripture was meant for something in
that time? I know that this creates a problem, because one could say
that homo***uality was forbidden in that day, but because it’s so common
today, it’s ok.
I’m interested in your opinion to this. I want to accept the verses
below, but I want to be sure I have the correct understanding of the
verses.
When you respond….try not to be angry…..I’m not :-)
1 Timothy 2:12 - 3:1 (NKJV) 12And I do not permit a woman to teach or to
have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was formed
first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being
deceived, fell into transgression. 15Nevertheless she will be saved in
childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with
self-control. 1This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position
of a £bishop, he desires a good work.
1 Corinthians 14:34 - 35 (NKJV) 34Let £your women keep silent in the
churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be
submissive, as the law also says. 35And if they want to learn
something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful
for women to speak in church.
