Then -- without leaving the sink or turning the water on-- I can pick

I can do that 25 times before I turn the water off or leave the sink.

OR, I can visit the kitchen sink-- say-- once an HOUR-- to be sure my
hands are clean.

Which activity is useful, and which is useless?

If I wash and rinse and dry 25 times before I STOP (that's what you
are doing when you CHANT the Rosary 25 times)

If I wash a dozen times in a DAY, I am keeping my hands clean, because
I am doing dirty work.

Unfortunately, you are so brain dead, you can't detect the REAL
difference. In other words, for YOU (and HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of Roman
Catholics), it's become "rote".

It's only "meaningful" because you've been told that it is.

In the hand wa****ng, the first thing you know, your hands are raw and
bleeding (excessive, unnecessary, HARMFUL hand wa****ng)

In the Rosary, excessive, unnecessary chanting, and it's excessive,
and it's HARMFUL (it's actually self-hypnosis)

Are you TRULY THAT stupid, that brainwashed?

tsk tsk

Sure, I pray! Are you daft?

> How about an example?

Certainly! You have asked a VERY intimate question, but I can share
some not-so-personal prayers.

"Our Father, who is in Heaven. Hallowed be your name! Your kingdom
come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven!"

Or,

"Lord Jesus, I ask you to bless this meal! Forgive any sins I've
committed so far to day, bless my loved ones, bless our nation's
leaders. In Jesus' name, Amen!"

"Lord Jesus, as I lay down to sleep tonight, I again confess any sins
I've committed. I'm sorry I got mad and took your name in vain. I am
sorry I had lustful thoughts about my cute neighbor next door! I am
sorry I cursed my building manager under my breath. Forgive me for
cursing at the TV this evening! Help me get better control of my
temper.

Help me to spend more time in the Bible, and less time watching the
tube! And help me to find more op****tunities to share the gospel!

In Jesus name, bless my sleep! Help me get some rest!"

I have a big day tomorrow! Don't let me get too busy for you, and
don't let me get too busy to be helpful to others! Help me find ways
to share Jesus with others!

Amen!

Maybe you'd like to try praying some REAL prayers, Earl!

All prayer is is "talking to God".

And if you get "stuck" with what to pray, start with Psalm 1, and read
them through to the last Proverb.

Many have complained over the centuries, "I don't know what words to
use." Pray the Psalms and Pray the Proverbs.

Or just talk about what's on your mind, and ask God what's on His
mind!

There's absolutely NO ONE THERE but God, and you.

So you TRULY can be candid, and honest.

One of my buddies at church one Sunday evening, during "Sunday night
with the pastor, in a Question and Answer" session, asked our pastor
(senior pastor), "Dr ______ (don't recall which one)

should I tell God I'm REALLY pissed off? At HIM?

The pastor laughed. "What makes you think God doesn't already KNOW
you're really pissed off. At Him?

shouldn't we be HONEST with God?

Perhaps it would make us feel better OCCASIONALLY to tell God WHY
we're pissed off. At Him!

(He knows, but it makes us feel better)

I also note that Mark didn't have the stones to reply to my post that
included actual LINKs to the stories about the buses the Mayor didn't
use in N O!!

Not that YOU care about facts.

Any comment on the actual topic of the thread, asshole?

Didn't think so!

You, like your sockpuppet lover Elaine, would rather harass people
than have anything constructive to say.

Thanks, Rod! And, note, Mark Bilbo didn't respond to half-a-dozen
news links-- ONE from a Senior Correspondent from MSNBC NEWS!

He attacks people who he thinks don't know. HE doesn't know!

I don't run my mouth! While I don't ALWAYS present do***entation, it
only took me like 5 minutes and 3 searches to come up with several
HUNDRED links. You just have to type in the right words. All I ended
up typing in was "New Orleans Buses". After I waded through 2 pages of
"New Orleans Bus" ads, I found the rest was page after page after page
of the buses the Mayor hadn't bothered to use, with his people
DROWNING.

And the local news and national news from here in Seattle had choppers
flying overhead, doing video feeds (live) of the buses in those bus
yards. The media kept asking the Mayor, "MAYOR! WHY AREN'T YOU USING
THESE BUSES? " Day after day after day after day, those buses sat
there, and day after day after day, he yelled, "Why isn't Wa****ngton
helping?"

He is incompetent, and the lives of THOUSANDS are his responsibility!

NO comment from Mark!

NONE!

Even when I CHALLENGED him DIRECTLY,

No comment from Mark!

You DO have idols, but your spiritual blindness (your demons cause it)
don't allow you to see the OBVIOUS. Rome LIES to you, and you believe
ROME instead of clear scripture.

Those statues of people ("the saints") in your "sanctuaries" and
cathedrals are IDOLS, pal!

LEV 26:1 " `Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for
yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down
before it. I am the LORD your God.

DT 4:15 You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you
at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully,
16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol,
an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 17 or
like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 18 or like
any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters
below. 19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon
and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing
down to them and wor****ping things the LORD your God has ap****tioned
to all the nations under heaven. 20 But as for you, the LORD took you
and brought you out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be
the people of his inheritance, as you now are.

No images of man, woman, animal, bird, or fish is allowed in the
sanctuary.

If you knew the BIBLE, pal, you wouldn't be making these STUPID
remarks!

;-)

Hatred doesn't let you admit it.

Kindly do not impose your IGNORANCE on me! I do not hate you! I hate
the anti-Christ CULT you belong to!

And I am AGAIN recommending (strongly) that we take a LONG break from
you. If you are too stupid to figure out that I am immune from your
proselytizing. You have been at this with me for over 5 YEARS now!
You have not budged; nor have *I*!

When our Lord Jesus gave us the PERFECT prayer, He prayed, "Our
Father..." Nor did He say, "pray this 25 times before you stop!"

What you are indicating, David, is that you don't even understand how
to pray!

In this case, you are correct. However, in many cases, the point IS
valid.

and in many cases where a specific issue is not mentioned, enough
similar teaching is given that we can draw a fairly specific
conclusion.

What too many do NOT understand is that the Bible is DELIBERATELY
silent on MANY modern issues meaning that God grants many more freedom
than they're comfortable with.

For that reason, such "leader****p" as that found within the Vatican,
and such leader****p as that found in Calvinism and the "Reformed"
churches go to great lengths to "fill in the gaps" God left, and
"correct" His divine omissions.

That is, "just because God didn't see fit to forbid _____, and _____,
and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and
_____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and
_____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and _____, and

(I believe you will get the idea)

Doesn't mean that, all those things are "ok."

In fact, that is PRECISELY what those "blanks" mean!

To say that _____ (something the Bible does not forbid (like eating
candy)) is wrong, even though the Bible doesn't say so, is to say,
"well, you must pray over which brand of toothpaste to use." Or, "you
must pray whether to use a gentle brush, a medium brush, or a firm
brush.

Why don't all men pray over whether to cross their shoelaces to the
right or left?

There are TRULY 10,000 issues that come up in our lives on which God
simply has "No Opinion!"

You want the magical "power" of "eating His flesh" and "drinking His
blood!"

You want the magical "power" of praying to Mary and Peter.

You want the magical "power" of bowing down to the idols in your
cathedrals

You want the magical "power" you get from "indulgences".

You want the magical "power" of voting for a "pope" every -__ years.

You want the magical "power" of being sprinkled with "holy water"
periodically.

You want the magical "power" of burning candles when you "pray."

You want the magical "power" of chanting the "Rosary" 50 times a week.

But if there's any REAL mystical "power" in being immersed,

You shriek

          "No THANKS!"

Why is that?

On the contrary! I believe in baptizing BELIEVERS (like Jesus
believed). I don't base baptism on ASSUMPTIONS (like ASSUMING that
infants "simply MUST have been baptized" even though not one single
mention of an infant being "baptized" can be found in the New
Testament!

And I believe in being baptized like Jesus chose to be baptized, and
like His followers chose to do it.

And I don't argue over "we don't KNOW He was immersed!"

(but you REFUSE to be immersed "in case HE WAS")

There would be ABSOLUTELY NO SIN INVOLVED WHATSOEVER in being IMMERSED
in water.

But you STILL R E F U S E to do it!

Why?

Because ROME says "Don't!"

;-)

Sadly, you likely don't even know why you REFUSE to be immersed.

You just have been taught "that's not the way to do it!"

and you can't even remember when / if you were "baptized" as an
infant. All you have is a piece of paper that says you were!

But that is "good enough for you" because

   Rome says so!

Yes, you did!

You obviously
1. didn't look up the passage.
2. looked it up, but with your obvious spiritual blindness, you didn't
get it.

  That's how Baptists
>work, it seems. You included. It's all arbitrary.

Not at all!

We are free to decide for ourselves on non-essentials. ALL the topics
in that passage are NON-ESSENTIALS.

feasts
holidays
foods to eat/avoid
days to wor****p

NON-essentials!

And I am betting you STILL don't get it!

(because you are so brainwashed you can only "comprehend" information
that's stamped "Rome Approved!"
