Well, galia, at least one of the above persons (me) CLAIMS to be a
Christian!
What makes you think YOU are a Christian?
And where in the Bible does it tell you you should pretend to diagnose
people over the web by looking up descriptions of various illnesses on
web pages?
Does pretending to be a psychiatrist (when you are obviously NOT one)
qualify you as a Christian Spiritual Giant?
What passage is THAT one found in, Oh, "She who walks on water!"
;-)
"Let the galia who is without sin cast the first rock!"
(and galia let fly with a handful of rocks. as she is perfect)

There are a few Christians in here; likewise, there are self-im****tant
jerks like Jim Agar (ujb) who claims to be an Army Colonel in the JAG
Corps (of all things), who is as psychotic a sadist as you'll ever run
into.
Part of his ( "ujb's") daily pleasure is to call an admittedly
mentally ill adult nice things like "stupid" and "retard."
Have a nice day!

Poor stupid yourself, cor****al clinger. One would have to be deaf,
dumb, and blind to not know about vibrators, since they can be
purchased-- and are prominently displayed--in practically every
drugstore on the planet.
duh!
And if you are so uninformed, mental midget, what's this about a
"little blue pill?"
Do you need such help at your tender age?

Sorry! Explain once again how that's any of your business!
And-- stupid Elaine! You SHOULD know that many business owners hire
management who are given the responsibility of hiring and firing.
tsk tsk
This should

"Interesting" is something YOU never are!
;-)
but, you knew that, didn't you?
Are you now claiming to have owned a business?
Tell you what, hold your breath for 1 year, and at the end of the
year, I'll answer you.
;-)

However, I note that-- as usual-- you are quite capable of "supplying

John, why on EARTH do you waste your time and energy on such?
Have you not YET figured out that Dave Horn is an ATTENTION WHORE like
Phar Lap and others?
He is here for ONE purpose: To waste your time, your energy, and to
antagonize you!
And--no-- he NEVER has anything good to say!
(he's likely a demoniac, whereas YOU are simply psychotic)

Why not? Do you see the Ethiopian eunuch hesitating once he had
become a Christian? He believed, he looked and saw water deep enough
to be baptized in, and he requested baptism!
Be OBEDIENT! Get immersion baptized immediately! (you'll be glad you
did)
Jesus said, "if you LOVE me, obey me!" And if being immersed wasn't
IM****TANT,
Jesus would not have made a POINT of being baptized, and THEN turning
around and baptizing a number of His first disciples (likely the 12)

I had to laugh out loud, Mike! You demand of John Wolf things you
would refuse to do yourself!
BJ is simply saying that he isn't going to go to the BOTHER of
EXTENSIVE original research when he already knows that Dr John
MacArthur is an EXPERT and AUTHORITY (recognized worldwide) on the
subject under discussion. "Roman Catholicism".
If BJ or I were to confront YOU on a dozen Roman Catholic issues,
would you spend days or WEEKS researching it from scratch, or would
you more likely turn to a dozen sources YOU happen to know have
already done the research?
;-)
Do not pretend to hold non-Roman Catholics to a higher standard than
you set for yourself!
Nor would I go to Roman Catholic sources for information. They tend to
be NOTORIOUSLY dishonest.
For instance, I have encountered VERY FEW Roman Catholics who would
actually ADMIT that you / they actually wor****p Mary. They would
simply REDEFINE "wor****p" so that the word / concept "no longer
applies."
Likewise, point out the idols in your "churches" and the Roman
Catholic merely REDEFINES "idols" so that the term "no longer
applies."
tsk tsk
Roman Catholics have been doing this slight of hand (called
"anti-Protestant counter-evangelism" or some such) for DECADES. IT
doesn't work any better then than it did in the 1950s!

Some believe in and recite the Nicene Creed, some believe in and
recite the Apostle's Creed.
Since neither is found in the Bible, and since both contain false
teaching-- such as a teaching of the "ever-virgin Mary", many of us
REJECT both.

The Holy Spirit, like God (the Father) is neuter gender. However, if
one examines the actual characteristics (teacher, nurturer, exhorter,
etc), we see that the Holy Spirit (depending on the cultural
background of the believer (African, Asian, Russian, German, American,
South American), the Holy Spirit has both male AND female
characteristics. (which I believe is intentional) The TEACHER would
be male (since the New Testament teaches that it is the MALE role to
TEACH. The NURTURER would be female (mother/ nurse/wet nurse)
>
>If not female, then in whose image were women made when Elohim made
>huamns, both male amd female, in their own image?
The man was said to have been made in God's [ spiritual image ].
(Jesus Christ was then made in the physical image of man.
The woman was made in man's image. She was then given female
characteristics to "match" and "complement" her mate, not to
"duplicate" him.
Woman was OBVIOUSLY made in man's image since -- from the back -- she
resembles man. She obviously has not been created to resemble an ant,
a bee, a dog, a cow, a horse, a giraffe.
john w
>
>If not male, then who was the father of Jesus?
Jesus Christ was made in the image of man, and born into the human
race via a human female, so that He could take His place among us and
become the first/ and ONLY human sacrifice, taking mankind's place on
the cross.

"Elder" can refer to pastor or assistant pastor, or to mature ADULT
Christians ("elder boards") in "Elder Rule" churches who are
appointed/elected by the member****p to conduct the churches business
on a number of matters, from making decisions on purchasing / selling
property, to selecting new elders (pastors/senior staff/etc) to
discipline (when a member is caught beating his wife up)
(I don't see a PRECISE definition of what elders DO in scripture; I DO
see definitions/criteria of their QUALIFICATION)
"The elder is to be the husband of only one wife." (not a polygamist,
as polygamy was not uncommon in that day)
Tit 1:6 An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man
whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild
and disobedient.
1 Ti 5:19 Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is
brought by two or three witnesses. 20 Those who sin are to be rebuked
publicly, so that the others may take warning.
"Deacons" would be those responsible for day-to-day administration of
church business. Distributing food to the needy, distributing the
Lord's Supper during those services, serving the food to the members
during community meals.
Taking phone calls from "pari****oners"/members who are in need in
some way.
In Peter's / Paul's day, it came to the attention of The Elders (the
12) that the widows and orphans and the poor (this is from memory)
were not receiving their due (food/monetary help).
The 12 got together and decided (wisely) that it was not good
("seemly") for the elders to be "about getting their hands dirty" when
THEY should be about the church's SPIRITUAL matters.
They decreed (the member****p readily agreed) that the member****p would
appoint and then elect "deacons" who would distribute the food to
those in need and conduct other "dirty hands" business as they were
called upon.
This arrangement seems to have worked beautifully for 2,000 years now!
Some may see little or no distinction. However the hierarchy works
thusly. Should you have a question about Sunday last's sermon, you'd
first approach the pastor. If he had time, he would answer directly.
IF he was too busy, he would refer you to an elder. You have asked
about a SPIRITUAL matter.
In some churches (John MacArthur's, for example), the senior elder
(Pastor MacArthur) is considered too busy with spiritual matters to
interface with the members AT ALL. The word has gone out that he is
NOT to be contacted. In this case, the elder board has stepped in to
answer all such questions.
( "What did John mean when he said "" The meek will inherit the
earth" last Sunday? I don't understand that concept!")
That would be a spiritual/scriptural question which would be
appropriate for a Mature Christian of Authority (appointed/elected)
The DEACON would be the guy you'd call if you knew a family who would
be unable to celebrate Christmas with gifts OR a nice meal due to
financial hard****p.
example. When I was a lad of about 6 or 7, my dad, a taxi driver, got
hit head-on one morning. It seriously damaged his leg, left him unable
to walk. Our insurance didn't cover it, and our savings was wiped out.
Mom explained that "we are not going to have Christmas this year!"
We were to be grateful that dad was home alive.
Christmas afternoon, 2 - 3 PM, the doorbell rang, and a delegation
from church brought us the biggest tree I'd ever seen, and about 5
boxes of gifts and another 5 boxes of food.
Someone had heard our plight, we were in need, and a deacon was
called.
That is what "deacons" are all about, the "dirty hands" business of
the church that doesn't require any "spiritual authority."
When you need financial help-- a week's worth of groceries-- call a
deacon or deaconess (typically the deacon's wife/ it's usually a team,
if the church grants the women ANY authority-- many do not)
When you have a spiritual issue, in many cases, you'd call the
"lower-level" deacon, who'd hand off your prayer request to an elder
(or at LEAST make the elder board AWARE of your issue)
example
(sorry this may be long-winded, but for SOME, it's VITAL information,
and as an elder, I can give an INFORMED answer.)
My mom got a call (or came back from the doctor/ don't recall now)
that her biopsy had come back, and she had terminal cancer. "She was
being consumed."
She immediately called a deacon, who assured her he'd pass the word
on. She hung up, within 5 minutes, the phone was ringing every couple
of minutes. She'd hang up, and a couple of minutes later, the phone
would ring again, as our brothers and sisters in Jesus "checked in" to
give us their love and express their concerns and promise their
prayers.
Some 36 hours later (the afternoon after her emergency surgery), we
were called to tell us, her phone call had set off an "international
prayer chain". That call had set off a dozen calls, which had set off
a 100 more, which had set off a 1,000 more. (each person calling at
LEAST a dozen others) Within an hour or two, we quite literally had a
MINIMUM of some 10,000 Christians AROUND the WORLD (I THINK that # is
accurate) praying for mom's cancer surgery.
She went into surgery the next day ("to see if they could do
ANYTHING") and there was no TRACE of cancer!
--
Oh! And thanks for asking. One of the reasons I wrote such a "long"
answer ( to some) is that I also was writing a chapter of my book!
:-)

Being a "DC brat" (born and raised in our nation's capitol), and
having had family IN THE ADMINISTRATION during JFK's brief term, let
me tell you something.
While he may be "the most powerful single human being on the planet,
the US President is AMAZINGLY anemic!
If you haven't heard, JFK barked orders left and right shortly after
he took office. Over the succeeding months (he didn't get many
YEARS), he was absolutely SHOCKED on SEVERAL occasions by how many of
his "Orders" were never carried out.
One of those Executive Orders he issues that was not carried out
ALMOST started a nuclear WWIII.
IF you're interested, I'll be HAPPY to tell you what I'm talking
about. Just ask.
(nor was that a shot at YOU personally. I just don't want to bore you
or anyone else. PLENTY of others are in here to bore you!)

What does "impeahed" mean?
And while sick willy WAS "impeached" theoretically, ALL possible
charges were not filed. HE was guilty of TREASON-- as I stated-- and
yet he was never charged by the Left-dominated Congress of his day!
;-)
"but nice try" (not really, and we'll call that my lie for the day)
And-- as I said -- I have just been reading a Wa****ngton / WJC expose
by a DC insider who reminded all who read his book that Clinton was
ORDERED by Congress (something they get to do) to turn over THOUSANDS
of do***ents. At least 150 of those do***ents have STILL not been
surrendered, 10 YEARS later!
While Jimmy Carter will likely (so far) go down in history as
America's most incompetent Prez ever, WJC so far is the record holder
as America's most CORRUPT Prez ever, perhaps being bumped to a lower
ranking by
either
LBJ
or JFK
(all 3 being DEMOCRATS)
Which only shows to go that when it comes to
out-and-out political ABUSES
and RANK corruption,
"there's STILL nothing like a Democrat"!!

Amen. That guy is really doped out. Musta found some kind of
religion from the right-wing-religious-wackos. Oh, BTW, Clinton has
nothing to do with this thread--even if he does believe what he says.

As I said, s****t, when you DELIBERATELY type "Bible" lower case, I
find you most offensive.
Since you now have established CLEARLY that you don't give a rat's
butt whether you offend me or you don't...
"If my eating meat offends my brother, then it is a sin to eat meat in
front of him..."
You OPENLY sin in my presence.
I therefore, have nothing else to say to you.

Amazing isn't it, how many of my posts you skipped over ENTIRELY
before you found THIS one to comment on!
There's an old story that goes, "when it's poo poo you're looking for,
you're just about GUARANTEED to find some!"

Jesus put it this way:

Sad?
I think it's sad that you wish to make OTHERs responsible for YOUR
choices!
If you find my posts (or others) that distasteful, perhaps you'd bring
your child(ren) in here and point to some names and say, "Now, don't
download those! Download that one!"
You are MORE than welcome to kill file me!
:-)
But you'll still have to deal with "insane Elaine' and "Crazy Colonel
Jimmy Agar".
OTOH, I have complained for 6 YEARS now (the length of my sojourn here
thus far) that this place is not fit for Christians. Too many
atheists, too many demoniacs, too many psychotics.
But, at least you know who they are!
And, see?
We have now had a nice conversation!
;-)
