Steve, this time, "ya got me!"
My sincerest apologies!
DEEP BOW!
I looked the passage up in 3 translations, including the NAB. The NAB
says it was the next week. IT was the NLT that says it was 8 days
later.
I read the passage, then quoted the wrong translation.
AGAIN, never let it be said that -- when I am CLEARLY wrong, like this
time-- I don't admit it.
Apologies!
Frankly, I STILL don't give the RCC or your "Bible" much credit.
HOWEVER, in THIS case, the NAB translation happens to match that of
some 10 other translations I own, as well as my own understanding.

Oh! My gosh!
Wow!
I read this just for curiosity sake! Rod, I hope you take this as
intended!
I have seen a new side to you, and we are-- at this place -- in
ABSOLUTE agreement!
I have had to tell any number of people these past 20 years. My very [
legal ] lifestyle was outlawed some 15 years ago. One day I was a
law-abiding citizen (I won't go into detail), the next I woke up, and
new laws had been signed, and NOTHING IN MY BEHAVIOR HAD CHANGED, but
OVERNIGHT, I had become a criminal!
And so now, as of this date, I am an outlaw!
And I will be until they come and arrest me!
The FACT is that the local authorities know who I am, and they could
not care LESS! So long as I don't bother anyone (I never have), I am
left be!
However, that could change. And when the time comes, and I have some
real $$$$, I will begin VIGOROUSLY FIGHTING a dozen laws!
ONE for example. The first month William J Clinton was in office as
President, he signed into law an unconstitutional bill against gun
owner****p. That unconstitutional bill turned ME into an outlaw.
Overnight. The day BEFORE, I was a legal gun owner. The next morning,
it was illegal for me to own a gun! I had done NOTHING different
overnight!
Why has that law not been rescinded? Not enough people care!
And the NRA, that bastion of democracy, hasn't done anything because
not enough of THEM were disarmed!

We're right back to if I ask you "how are YOU today?" Do you give me
the TWO-HOUR, "Well my wife left me last night, and I had a wreck on
my way to this interview, and my 14 year old daughter just got
pregnant, and my son was just busted for selling crack..."
or do you say, "I'm fine!" SMILE. "And how are YOU today?"
( the prospective employer doesn't want your life history) The "How
are you is a fancy way of saying "hi!" It's not a "sincere questions"
and does not merit "an HONEST answer."
In this case, you need to determine why the employer asked, and
attempt to anticipate the ANSWER he expects.
(that is, he has definitely asked you a TRICK QUESTION)

BINGO!
The FACT that John MUST ALWAYS GIVE A RELIGIOUS ANSWER to EVERY
QUESTION means John is VERY ONE-DIMENSIONAL.
The question "What sort of gas does your car burn?" at the gas station
does not rate "I was just praying about that, and the Lord said..."
"Unleaded would be fine" is sufficient.
A man must earn his way, after all. If however John DID tell the

Actually, BJ has made that commitment VERY clear. What is NOT clear at
this point is that he is getting such a "commitment" communicated from
God. It seems very much to be an ego issue for BJ.
It is a full time sacrifice of selflessness
> not to be taken
> lightly, and John has physical needs as do we all.
You put it well. Full time ministry (which I prepared for BRIEFLY and
then came to the conclusion that I "am not cut from that particular
cloth")
requires a full time commitment to sacrifice and selflessness.
John fails both criteria.
I did as well.

All WHAT stuff, Elaine?
Even if I HAVE posted stuff here and there for the past 10 years, for
someone like you or like Jimmy here to go and research EVERY LAST

DEEP BOW!
EXACTLY!
Except in my case, in the state of Wa****ngton, it is a matter of State
Policy that religion is not an appropriate topic for job interviews. I
have been to a DOZEN MAJOR "contract employers" from Kelly to Rho to
Butler to ...
They ALL tell you, "don't get into politics, and don't get into
religion. BOTH are TRICK questions. And if you're a Christian (I am),
and if you NOT a HARD-CORE Democrat who HATES _______ (Republican
politician), you can kiss your prospects for employment goodbye if you
get sucked into saying so.
I said that UP FRONT. I can not answer for Rhode Island, Kentucky,
Southern California, Miami, Florida, or Schenectady, NY.
I said THAT up front.
And got arguments that "you don't know what you're talking about."
Well, my illnesses may have kept me out of the work force for the past
10 years (ballpark), but I have certainly kept my ear to the "News
Editorials" on "how to interview for that job",
and the local (Wa****ngton state) rules REMAIN.
DO NOT discuss RELIGION. Do NOT discuss politics!
They WILL ask, and they are trying to figure out if you are "hip" to
the "no-no's", or if you are "oblivious." If you are "oblivious", as
Bible John Wolf is, you don't get hired in this state!
The SAFE thing to do (in case you run across that RARE Christian
employer (you see the prominent Cross on the shelf behind his desk,
you see the Fish symbol on his jacket lapel) is to ask a clarifying
question or two. A simple, "Well how do you want me to answer that?"
goes MILES toward getting you out of a jamb.
one VERY specific example. I interviewed for an assistant teaching
position in a public school in a Seattle suburb 15 years ago. Turned
out, the man I would be re****ting to, the head of the English
department, was also a Christian. He brought it up. "Are you a
Christian by any chance?" When so confronted, I WILL NOT deny my
faith, but I hedged. "I am, but I don't think that's an appropriate
conversation to get into."
He then told me that he had tested me, he is also a Christian, but
that it's the Wa****ngton State public school policy that Christianity
is a TABOO subject on public school campuses.
(I think this since went to court and the school district lost the
ruling)
the POINT was, even a Christian employer will tell you that HE is
harassed by non-Christian employees!
(keep your mouth shut, and your ears open)
God bless!

You know, Elaine...
I'd think by now someone as BRILLIANT as you would have figured it
out.
I had already answered the question ONCE before.
You read it. You commented on it!
I simply didn't BOTHER to answer it for DAVID!
You continue to be dumber than a damn rock!
>

As I've said before, dumbass (you truly should pay attention), it's
called "poetic license". It's ALSO called, "I don't bother to edit my
posts as CAREFULLY as you do!"
And I found SEVERAL of YOUR TYPOS just the other day!
;-)
Oh, and "snif" is actually
>spelled "sniff". You need to work on remembering that.
You truly ARE dumber than a damn rock! I ALSO explained why I spell
"sniff" with one "f" in here.
And YOU are so damned stupid that when you quote me "mis-spelling" or
"mis-quoting", you don't even know enough to use QUOTE marks!
Dumbass!

As if that absurd crack hasn't been used 1,000 times before you by 100
others!
If you are going to attempt to insult me (smirk)
you might at LEAST try to be a LITTLE original.
Maybe you can't!
Maybe just maybe there aren't enough gray cells left in your hollow
skull to form one intelligent thought!
(you haven't formed one SO far)
Nor do I need to prove my writing skills.
Those who know me know I have earned a GREAT deal of money over the
years with my writing, and a great deal of money (and recognition)
with my other artistic talents.
It is not unusual for artists to not be fully recognized in their
lifetime.
I can live with that!
Just think! So far, I've made FAR more money with my art (writing,
etc) in my lifetime, than Van Gogh did in his!
;-)

Wrong!
you never type any "substance". You vomit onto your keyboard and call
it "enlightening."
It isn't, and I refuse to refute your CRAP "point by point."
You like to pretend that your unlearned, unread, untrained, unschooled
"point of view" matters this much = to anyone but you.
(it doesn't)
So I snip.
Deal with it!
Anyone who wishes to read YOUR crap only has to dial back one post!
Dumbass!

What about it?
Jim calls names (and has since I've been in here, 6 years now).
YOU call names ("weatherless", "liar-johnnie", "old man", "useless")
Why shouldn't I?

Shall I post some of the Seattle Times and Seattle PI ads from the
local drug stores for you?
Last time *I* asked at a local Bartell's, I was told, "sir, these
vibrators DO have MEDICAL uses! MANY people actually DO find them
VERY useful for LOCAL massages!"
Get your mind out of the GUTTER, if that's possible!
We all know what they are! I'm just saying that you can find them in
any drug store worthy of being called a drug store!

Do you understand, now, S, that you are now communicating with "BB",
or "Bible Bob", and that Bible Bob will have you believe he's as
Christian as you, and yet BB FLATLY REJECTS the Trinity, AND he FLATLY
REJECTS the Deity of Jesus Christ?
Before you get too cozy with this fraud, be warned!
You have no discernment, and he is sucking you in!
;-)
(not that you'll listen to anything I said; you may not even actually
be a Christian). However, it is my duty as a Christian to INFORM you.

And here is where you and I finally part company. Paul said that it
should be enough to tell you that that offends me! I told you and you
flipped me your middle finger.
Paul said that when you disregard my being offended, YOU sin!
So now, I shall disregard you! YOu are in sin, I called you on it,
you flipped me off!
End of story!
Any "fellow****p" we may have had was broken when I told you you
offended me, and you basically said, "tough s*".
That is unrepented sin.
And that attitude I have found to be TYPICAL of Pentecoslta
"believers". You are ARROGANT.
