This argument "Is Jesus divine" is almost as old as the argument 'Is
there a God?" and will not be resolved before the Christ (the Jesus
God/man) returns in His glory to establish His earthly Kingdom once
and for all.
For then, "every knee shall bow".
John 1 made it quite clear that the Son was the Father in flesh, as
did Paul in Colossians 2. 'For in Him (the Son/Christ Jesus) dwelt all
the fullness of the Godhead (Father/Son/Holy Spirit) in Flesh."
If you read Rev 1-3 and Rev 22, you find the descriptive "Alpha and
Omega"-- a title reserved for God the Father-- being used for Jesus
and by Jesus.
Those who reject the deity of the Christ also reject God and the
Trinity.
Why argue?

[ Wa****ngton ] State Supreme Court upholds gay marriage ban
By Lornet Turnbull <mailto:lturnbull@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
>
Seattle Times staff re****ter
The Wa****ngton Supreme Court today upheld the state's 1998 ban on
same-*** marriage — a ruling decried by gay activists but heralded by
sup****ters of traditional marriage.
The 5-to-4 decision came as a sobering defeat for gays and their
advocates, who'd hoped the court would strike down the so-named
Defense of Marriage Act — DOMA — which restricts marriage to one man
and one woman.
Had the court struck down the law, Wa****ngton would have become only
the second state in the nation, after Massachussets, to allow same-***
couples to marry.
Wa****ngton passed DOMA in 1998, two years after the federal government
passed such a law, defining marriage as a union between one man and
one woman. Since then, a majority of states have passed similar
gay-marriage bans.

I am neither. I am not a religious zealot, or my life and my
lifestyle-- my day-to-day activities would be quite different.
What I WILL do is defend my beliefs when people attack them.
That is not being a "zealot." That is being a mature adult who is not
afraid to defend myself and my faith.
I am betting there are causes for which YOU fight. Likely, you're one
of the loudest screamers at your local s****ts bar, when your team does
something good.
Making you a "s****ts fanatic." So how come it's ok to be a fanatic
about the local s****ts teams, but if you're a fanatic for God, there's
something wrong with you?
I'd say your attitude is need of SERIOUS adjustment. Called "Live
and let live." Without making rude comments.
>If you were a retard, I'd give you a break.
>But you don't have that excuse.
I never said I was " a retard." Some of the local retards have said
that about me, as if...

What a crack-up!
And if you don't believe in air, will IT cease to exist? If you
refuse to believe in gravity, will you float away into space?
One could say that those who refuse to believe in Christianity, in
spite of the OBVIOUS evidence (the prophesies about the End Times
continue to be fulfilled whether you believe it or not)
are those with character flaws.
At any rate, was this little "chew" supposed to upset me?
smirk.
I thought you said you knew me!!
chuckle.
And if 9/11 taught us nothing else, it's
>that we can no longer afford to give You People the benefit of the
doubt.
????? You blame 9/11 on ME?
So you're one of THEM!
And how do you plan on ridding the planet of us "Xians?"
A bomb? nope. There are too many of us.
Are you and your 10 buddies gonna hop in the back of your pickup
(the one with the racoon tail) and grab your 10 shotguns and hunt us
down one-by-one?
chuckle. You might give some consideration to the FACT that some
of us (many) might just fight back!
;-)
I understand that at least two WORLD-famous evangelical Christians
(my sort) are also avid hunters (meaning they're QUITE conversant with
the long sticks that go 'BOOM!").
Ever hear of General Colin Powell or General Norman Schwarzkpof?
I doubt if either of them will be any easier to "take down" than I
will!
;-)
But you're more than welcome to try.

Well, gosh!
Thanks for at LEAST finally admitting, Rod, that you're up to no
good!
:-)
Some of us were aware of that, but it WAS nice of you to finally
admit it in writing!
:-)
Of course, you'll have the crazies who will hang on you and love you
anyway, as long as you agree to the super-secret handshake and the
"pact" ("We hereby agree to hate John Weatherly/"Weatherless", and to
stone him whenever he appears.")
The principal signer, of course, being none of than Insane Elaine
the Pain Matthews.
Otherwise known as "Elaine Matthewsevenless".

I DO wonder why such a conversation would come up in a Christian
group, and not in a group devoted to [smirk] "atheists."
Intending to provoke a clamor amongst the Christians, are we?
tsk tsk. infantile!

You TRULY have proved over the years, Vern, that you have nothing to
say.
Tho I supoose at some infantile, un-Christian level, it's "fun" (?)
to pick up rocks and throw them every time that person you HATE
appears.
eh?
I DO continue to wonder how you'll explain such to Jesus when He
comes. I'm betting you haven't given that ANY thought.

He asked for comments. I commented.
There is NO reason (aside from ignorance) today to call The Holy

THAT was my point, and YOU seemed to lose track of that while engaged

A sidestep! Today, there are people being killed in the world BY
MUSLIMS for NO reason other than:
1. they're American
2. they're not Muslims
3. they're Christians.
Perhaps you would like to deny that the Jihad Osama declared when the
present war began was against "Americans, America's allies, and
Christians!"

Okay.
I see several problems right off the bat. I admit to not having
read the entire page, but I saw some issues immediately.
For some reason, there are some today who insist on using the KJV
rather extensively. And since they use the KJV, they use the archaic
language whether they realize it or they don't.
IF we can call Jesus "Jesus" and not "Yeshua" (as did the 1st C
Christians and Jews), then we have "modernized" the name of our Lord.
If we can modernize the name of our Lord to "Jesus" and not "Yeshua",
then we should likewise be permitted to modernize the name of the 3rd
Person of the Trinity, as "The Holy Spirit" and NOT "The Holy Ghost",
which was the terminology of the King James scholars.
You use "The Holy Ghost" rather extensively, as what APPEARS to be
"the preferred name/title." I don't think a real case can be made
that the proper nomenclature of the 3rd Person is "The Holy Ghost."
Also, as another pointed out the other day, today, the word "ghost"
has very negative connotations.
To move along, I believe you mis-use the term "The Godhead". It's my
understanding (I'm not a scholar familiar with the languages), but I
understand from my study WITH scholars that "The Godhead" is NOT a
reference to "God", so much as it's a reference to the collective
"Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."
Hence, as you are trying to defend the Trinity doctrine, Col 2
becomes a POWERFUL statement (and I've checked this with numerous
scholars), that Jesus Christ was the Father, the Son, and the Holy
Spirit, ALL in flesh.
That is, ALL that God could be in human flesh, Jesus Christ was.
Jesus Christ was NOT JUST the Son. Jesus was the Son, He was The
Father, and He was The Holy Spirit all wrapped up in human flesh and
bone.
God bless, and thanks for making the effort!

Who exactly is this troll "Redfox", who once went by the equally
ridiculous "Phar Lap?"
he's been dropping his drawers and squatting in the Baptist group for
half-a-dozen years (at least)
What's up with this kook?

Go right ahead, and when I am in the position to do something about

See how that works?
Once again, dumbass, you only express your criminal intent to
plagiarize me because you (falsely) assume that I am not/ and WILL NOT
BE in a position to do anything about it.
Making you a garden-variety sociopath.

You shouldn't hate the person; you should hate the evil they do.
And you can't point to any evil I've done.
Disagreeing with you isn't "doing evil."
At any rate, I think your mind isn't big enough to hold any views
but yours.

Um, Randy, the whole point of Usenet and un moderated groups is that
"all views are welcome", and it's essentially a free-for-all.
What would not be proper or legal in Usenet un moderated groups is
libel and statements that encourage violent uprising against
politicians and the United States government.
Otherwise, it's pretty open season, and you might note that MOST of
those who visit Usenet (arcb in particular) don't even respect the
above limits.
I'm afraid that if you really want to control the content, you're
going to have to find or found a whole new group or a new "place" in
the Internet.
"Good luck with that."
Frankly, Randy, from some of the EXTREME and HIGHLY INTOLERANT views
YOU have expressed, if you were to find such a group, I would NOT join
you there!

Thanks for the link!
One of my real regrets in life is that I have never had the
op****tunity to visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
I have visited my homeland (England), and I've visited the site of
one of the original churches (Ephesus / Efes), but I've never gotten
to Israel (where it all began).
I continue to hope that God will allow me that pleasure before I
pass.
God bless!

The Reformation was a move to reject the pagan, unscriptural

What a STUPID question!
Answer: ABSOLUTELY! Show me one place, stupid person, where the
Bible FORBIDS *** for pleasure!
"You shall NOT have *** with your spouse just because it feels
good!"
It doesn't!
You have INVENTED an entire RELIGION based on unfounded

Catholic about scripture!
You don't know scripture!

I will NOT get into that with you now for the 100th time!
You believe what you have been taught, and you have never BOTHERED
to read up on the Old Testament SOURCE of the Lord's Supper!
Any JEW could tell you, your views are pure B S.

I absolutely most certainly did repost an article, which I rewrote.
I listed the author's name, I gave a full-paragraph explanation of why
I was re-writing it, and I posted my name as EDITOR.
"Try again", psycho!

Since so many assholes in here including you answer my every post,
stupid person, it's going to be archived whether I like it or not.
Isn't it?
How many of my posts have YOU SAID you responded to JUST to get them
archived?
You stupid, arrogant, lying *****!
I am pretty sure I have it, and will do a

Be sure you don't creatively edit it, you lying sack of feces!

She DID lie about it, like she and you lie about EVERYTHING!
I notice she COMMENTED on a post she didn't repost.
!!!
You did post such a message, and many
>of us replied about your plagiarism.
"You did post """""" such a message """""". You STUPID little
hater!
YOU can't even remember what it said! But you're VERY willing to
accuse me falsely!
And I was accused of plagiarism at the time ONLY by the psychos like
YOU!

Calling you a God-damned liar is EXACTLY what you are!
And if you want me to "clean up my act", clean up YOUR act!
You don't control me, you psychotic bozo!
You can't even control YOURSELF!
NUMEROUS people in here have told YOU YOU are out of control. You've
ignored them all!
So don't tell ME to clean it up! Clean yourself up!
