He was immersed. NOWHERE does the text say "he was washed in the
water."

AGAIN, making YOU, duke, a God-damned liar!

You have NOT been immersed as Jesus was as an ADULT,

 so AGAIN,
Duke, you are a God-damned liar!

  Yes. Absolutely.

I find NO prohibitions on birth control in the Bible.

And where God is SILENT (as in this case), men are NOT allowed to
come along behind and fill in the blanks with man-made laws.

 MAN-MADE laws!

The entire position of the RCC OPPOSED to birth control is that they
oppose any *** that does not eventuate in pregnancy.
They flatly REJECT *** for the sake of PLEASURE.

That is unscriptural. The Song of Solomon is FULL of references to
Solomon and his wife having *** for the sake of PLEASURE.

Paul said that husbands and wives did not have the right to deprive
each other of ***ual PLEASURE.

It's Rome that made *** for pleasure DIRTY and SINFUL except between
husband and wife for PROCREATION.

Such a concept is NOT found in the Bible!

I found no scripture, and I find no scripture that sup****ts her
view. Since there was no artificial birth control (no birth control
PERIOD) in the days when scripture was written,

 your "point" is absurd.

I just thought that as you were

I catalogued my reasons for not eulogizing Tammy Faye. That's my
right. "To speak my peace."
I look at my own failings every single day.
Thankfully, when I look at me, I see more stuff that I like-- more
stuff that God likes-- than I see stuff I / He doesn't like.

Rather than seeing my glass half empty...

There you go! I had no intent on attacking Tammy Faye. I stepped in
when other who don't know what they're talking about eulogized her in
a similar manner to how "Sister Theresa" ("Mother Theresa") was
eulogized by those who didn't understand the terrible, HORRIBLE
atrocities Theresa committed against the poor and the vulnerable!

I didn't put up with the phony eulogies of Theresa either.

 Do bear in
>mind, though, that none of us knows who has repented of their sins and
>who has not.

I can only speak for me, and I'm the only one I speak for.

HOWEVEVER, I listened to Tammy Faye's last press conference last
week, and continued to see her arrogant and apostate.

She made a joke about loving her makeup so much she DEMANDED the RIGHT
to wear it into surgery!

If that's not VANITY, what is vanity?

  Oh? Did she really?

When the re****ters asked her last week if she had gotten a prognosis
from the mds, she said she didn't want to know how long she had; it
would hurt her faith!

I think a LOT of Christians would say that's not what we call
"Christianity."

And IF she was "true to her beliefs", kindly give me some REAL,
TANGENT information to base that view on.

The dozen or more times she was confronted by the media (re****ters),
and I watched that CAREFULLY for any signs whatsoever of repentance,
she constantly denied having ANYTHING to do with the money....

 besides SPENDING it!

And she DID admit more than once to spending it LAVISHLY.

I seem to recall (not sure) her admitting to having bought a
diamond-studded collar for her dog!

She bragged about all the beautiful houses, planes, luxury cruises.

I never heard one word of repentance.

And I listened for it.

Good! I am glad to hear it! I have been in churches in which the
pastor would point, and I've been in churches in which the pastor or
an elder would take you aside and ask if there's any way they can help
you through your problem.

I like the 2nd approach myself.

And last time I got taken aside, my wife (ex-) had just falsely
accused me of abusing her and our child (3 at the time).

The elders believed her without even asking me, and after I had
repeatedly explained to no avail, I left that church.

I got tired after some 6 months of having heads turn and people
whisper and point every time I walked in.

So I walked out.

  This wasn't about "my sins."

Someone commented on Tammy Faye, and I gave my opinion that the past
few years, we've witnessed the day-by-day judgment of God against
Tammy Faye.

What are they? Are you going to detail them all for us?

I'm sure others will help you with that.

I detail my sins to God.

When you can forgive my every sin, I'll give you the whole list.

 The same Christ who knows

Well, I learned a few years back to not expect ever other Christian
on the planet to walk the same walk I walk. Peter didn't walk in
Jesus' footsteps. Paul didn't walk in Peter's steps! Bart didn't
follow Paul's steps.

There's no reason for me to seek your example or for you to seek mine.

If either of us compares one to the other, we've taken our eyes off
Jesus.

You should truly stop trying to play amateur psychologist or
behaviorist. You are no good at it.

You get very irate if anyone challenges or questions what you see as
your "ministry."

  I do, too.

As for changing churches because the pastor pointed a finger at me,
that has never happened.

  Not once!

What HAS caused me to leave churches was the pastor/elders not
living up to God's standard for elders.

??? I don't see the word "judge" or the words "judge others" in
what I said. Would you kindly point that out to me.

What do preachers do? They tell people about sin and how to live
better lives for God.
That is one of my ministries. It's obviously not one of yours!

????
I have said MANY times, Delusional Dr Kelly, that each person who
makes the effort to submit to God and do what God has called us to is
"special."

I am no more "special" than any other Christian who is striving daily
to "walk the walk."

I am deeply troubled that you don't understand that concept.

Oh! And just exactly WHY should I consider YOU "totally reliable?"
I can't recall the last time you EVER expressed any Christian love
to me. It's been 5 (?) years of hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,
hate, hate.

When you come to me with some indication that you're a Christian,
you can begin to correct me. When all I get from you is
self-righteous HATE, you can keep all your other high-minded thoughts
to yourself.

I didn't complain about "what comes out of someone else's mouth"; I
complained about an anti-Christian commercial seen by MILLIONS.

"Ditto." And I haven't committed spiritual suicide.
That you DEPEND on Rome to save you means you have already put the
gun to your own head and pulled the trigger (no evidence of any

   ?? The church I attend does a "Lord's Supper / Communion" monthly.
We follow what we believe is the teaching Christ left.

I do not observe "mass" as it's cannibalism and vampirism, nor
would I ever knowingly participate in a "mass."

  Baptism isn't a "sacrament";
however, as I've stated MANY times (and you continue to IGNORE),
I was immersed (as Christ was, and as He apparently immersed
others) when I was like 11 years old. (I no longer have the cert, so I
can't give an exact date or age)
I DO recall my pastor "baptizing me in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
Like Jesus said to do it.

You evidently are so IGNORANT of scripture YOU didn't notice!

I confess my sins daily. I need no priest. Jesus said that when we
pray (to confess and repent, and to submit our petitions to God), we
are to go into our closet and pray SECRETLY.
That's what I do; I pray and confess IN SECRET; just me and God!

You should try that some time! (it's called "obedience")

>using my own judgement.

There is no "religious prohibition" for any Christian using his own
judgment. The prohibition is on the Christian's judgment overcoming
his understanding of scripture.

Let me give you an example. I may find myself unemployed and dirt
broke, with a mortgage payment past due, the car payment two months
behind, and no food in the fridge.
My "better judgment" may suggest to me that obtaining a gun and
robbing a bank/ or even just going to the local grocery store and
seeing how many groceries I can STEAL is a good idea.
However, my Christianity tells me that robbing a bank or stealing
from a grocery is NOT a good idea, and that if I am faithful, "God
WILL provide."
God DOES provide in such cir***stances.

>In fact, according to my faith, using ones own judgement is a MORAL
>IMPERATIVE.

In that way, your "faith" and the faith of the true, sincere
Christian are no different.

And having been a Christian for OVER 50 YEARS now, I believe I can
speak with some authority on what Christianity teaches.

It really annoys me how many will create a FALSE sense of what
Christianity really is, and then badmouth that FALSE picture.

No one could object to REAL, TRUE, New Testament Christianity, in
which God loved man enough to provide eternal life to all who would
simply agree to "follow a few new rules."
Those rules include "treat others as you would like others to treat
you."
"Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
   "Don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal."
"Honor the God who created you." (why NOT? except some people's
egos won't allow that)
"Don't desire to have *** with your neighbor's wife, his daughter,
or his son." (this one all by itself proscribes all sorts of perverse
ACTS)
"Don't plot on how to get your neighbor's nicer car" from him.

these rules, and a few others, are the "basics" of Christianity.

There is an old saying in Christianity:
"If more people knew what Christianity was actually all about,
fewer people would object to it."

The FACT is, I went to the page from the link that was supplied.
Apparently, the video footage is not on that link anymore. There was
no video attached.
The FACT is, that the article (I read roughly half the article)
ADMITTED that the re****ter(s) had lifted a quote from Rev Price that
was NOT an accurate statement of his "personal holdings."

When the re****ter is willing to apologize for lifting a quote and
using it out of context (Fred Price's hyperbole aside), it's rather a
moot point for people in here to be pointing fingers at Fred Price as
a result of "this posted article", when in fact the article is an
APOLOGY to Dr Price.

Make no mistake, I am not a Fred Price fan. I know him. He's a
charlatan if ever there was one.

But if you're going to "get him, fair and square", you must do it
honestly.

There is NO excuse whatsoever for lifting a quote from a sermon he
gave and NOT checking with him and / or his staff for the accuracy of
the quote.

With NO respect intended towards Fred Price, this time, the media got
it wrong. Too bad, the stats have shown for YEARS that a retraction
after a negative story had not NEARLY the same impact as the original
story.

>
>The fact that he has two Mercedez's, rather than a helicopter doesn't

Sure it does. He was accused of BRAGGING about his helicopter, and
his 25-room mansion.

   He doesn't have either.

>
>He's still living a lavish lifestyle by taking money from people, while
>promising that GAWD will pay them back exponentially.

And it's the fault of the gullible who sit in his church and
listen, with avarice aforethought (people who believe that if they rub
shoulders with Fred Price, they too can be wealthy) who are
responsible for getting fleeced.
If they weren't there trying to learn how to get rich, he wouldn't
be able to take the money out of their pockets!

Let's try placing the blame where it belongs! The avaricious flock
are as to blame as he is.

>
>It's a promise that Prosperity Evangelists are making breaking to flocks
>of impoverished sheep-like Christians all over the country, every day.

Kindly don't call Fred Price's or Rod Parsley's or Benny Hinn's
followers "Christians."
I attended a home church from Fred Price's church briefly while I
was at Pepperdine U in the 1970s. I left that home church when I had
an argument with the home church's "pastor", one "Rev Chester Pipkin"
about whether Jesus Christ was God in flesh or not. Chester INSISTED
that Jesus was a "prophet", that he was NOT God in flesh.
I tried unsuccessfully to show Chester and his little group the
scriptures that proved that Jesus was God in flesh. They patiently
read the passages with me, and then demonstrated their spiritual
blindness by insisting that the Trinitarian passages weren't
Trinitarian passages. This same group is borderline JW, as they also
deny the Person of the Holy Spirit, and they call Him "it" and "holy
spirit" instead.
Fred Price is NOT a New Testament, born-again Christian!

That's crap! Any true Christian can understand what's up with Fred
Price and Benny Hinn!

The test is, do the "teacher/preacher"s teachings conform to CLEAR
scripture, or don't they?

When I confronted Fred's brother with his unscriptural teachings, he
confessed, but he REFUSED to repent.

Socrates or Plato or JFK or Albert Schweitzer,
by your own words, you quote John Hennekes!

Once again, anonymous coward galia, you prove the point I made
awhile back: You're a hater, and you've never had an original thought
in your entire life!

Coming from you, that hurts me DEEPLY, Cathy. Because your opinion of
me (and your opinion on EVERYTHING) matters just SOOOOO much to me.

  :-(

  Actually, Cathy, I'm not.
That's just your "too easy" way of pigeon-holing people you can
neither understand nor cope with.

  "I DO understand!"

Did you know, Van Gogh was considered insane in his day?

  chuckle.

I see you can ALWAYS fall back on your low-blows, Cathy.

Pray that you are never too ill to take care of yourself.

It's not unusual for God to curse those who mess with His children
(me) by blessing you with the same afflictions you curse in others.

And if you're "sane", I don't want any part of it!

I see literally NO THING in you that I would "be more like."
