1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be
ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed
through the sea;
10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were
overthrown in the wilderness.
10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not
lust after evil things, as they also lusted. THEY LUSTED FOR MEAT!
They ate a vegetarian diet for 40 years. God was leading them to a vege
diet!
Numbers 11:34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah:
because there they buried the people that lusted.
Psalms 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God
in the desert.
Matthew 19:8 He saith unto them, but from the beginning it was not so.
Daniel 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred
days;
then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Daniel 10:2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
10:3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth,
neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
The original rites and practices for the Day of Atonement are set forth in
the sixteenth chapter of Leviticus (cf. Exodus 30:10; Leviticus 23:27-31,
25:9; Numbers 29:7-11). It is considered to be a time for fasting, on
which
no food or drink are be consumed.
Adventists believe we are living in the anti-typical day of atonement
right
now. We therefore FAST and eat only that which is necessary for health.
We
eat for strength to have clear minds, not for gluttony!
