Hello William,

Many people, like myself, are not Seventh Day Adventists; but we have
discovered the blessings of the seventh day Sabbath.

When I "remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy", I have it in mind
all week so all my necessary work is completed during the other six
days;
the shopping, gardening, laundry --and even the car has been filled
with gas.

We have freedom to do good on the sabbath; but we should not be paid
for the good that we do. I don't work for money on the sabbath; nor
do I cause anyone else to work. Nehemiah opposed buying and selling
on the sabbath --so, I don't do that or go to restaurants to eat.
Nehemiah 13:15-22

I use this verse in Isaiah to guide my choices on how to observe the
sabbath:

" If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure
on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD,
honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor
finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words" Isa 58:13
Then when making a choice, I ask myself: "What would please God?

In the matter of attending church services, that is not part of the
commandment. It is good if you can congregate with godly people; but
if a church is in apostasy, it is better to be alone with God.

Thank you Donna for your thoughtful reply. I wholeheartedly agree with
you.
However, may I ask sincerely not what you abstain from on the Sabbath, but
what do you typically do on this holy day. I could assume reading
scriptures
is part of it. Remember it is a full 24 hours. Thank you in advance.

Cordially,
William
