Thank you Nils for asking those questions. They are im****tant
questions that deserve an answer.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT MARY

QUESTION:

"Is it lawful to ask a dead saint for prayer? Is it lawful to pray
for
the dead saints?"

ANSWER:

According to the scriptures praying to the dead is an abomination
to God and He has forbidden his people to do it. (Communication
with the dead is called necromancy*.)

"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son
or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or
an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or
a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For
all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and
because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them
out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy
God." Deut 18:10-13

The historical record of the scriptures gives us examples of how
God punishes people who burn incense to the "queen of heaven"
and communicate with the dead

For example, Samuel the Prophet, was a holy man who had favour
with God. After Samuel's death, king Saul communicated with
him and was killed because of that disobedience to God.

QUESTION:

" Is it lawful to ask Mary for prayer?"

ANSWER:

Not only does the scripture above forbid it, it is a delusion to
consider Mary a mediator:

"For there is one God, and ONE MEDIATOR between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)

Even in her lifetime, Jesus refused to allow her to be a mediator.
We have the example of the time when there was need for wine at
the wedding in Cana:

"And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and
the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his
disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the
mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith
unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not
yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith
unto you, do it." John 2:1-5 (KJV)

Here, we see that Jesus always works according to the will of HIS
FATHER IN HEAVEN:

"Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto
you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the
Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the
Son likewise." John 5:19 (KJV)

This advice of Mary that day at the wedding is what we need to
heed: "Whatsoever he saith unto you, DO IT!" The saints of
the past had faith in God and obeyed him. That is what we
are called to do also.

* Deuteronomy 18:11

[Or a necromancer.] Doreesh (heb 1875) 'el (heb 413)
hameetiym (heb 4191), one who seeks from or inquires of the
dead. Such as the witch at Endor, who professed to evoke the dead,
in order to get them to disclose the secrets of the spiritual world.
(from Adam Clarke Commentary)

I am not a Seventh Day Adventist (and never have been), a natural
Jew, or a Catholic. I am simply the least of Christ's brethren who
love Him and keep His Commandments.
