Modern Christianity is in apostasy! Except for a small number of
individuals, the salt has lost its savour. Jesus said to his
disciples:
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but
to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." Matt 5:13
(KJV)
Antinomian* Christianity is salt that is good for nothing; but, the
blame does not rest entirely on the clergy! The blame for the
apostasy from the truth that Jesus and the apostles preached must be
shared with the people who support those false teachers.
Unrepentant and unconverted men are deceived by false teachers who
tell them they can continue to intentionally disobey God and still
inherit eternal life. They pay false teachers because they want to
have their ears tickled with reassuring lies and fables. Antinomian
Christianity has fulfilled this prophecy of Paul in his letter to
Timothy:
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove,
rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will
come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And
they shall turn away their ears from the truth**, and shall be turned
unto fables." 2 Tim 4:2-4 (KJV)
In the time of Elijah, when ancient Israel was in apostasy, God told
him:
"Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which
have
not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him."
1King
19:18 (KJV)
A remnant of people are always kept by the power of God, through
faith, unto salvation. They remain faithful to the Creator of the
heavens and the earth. True followers of Jesus would rather die than
knowingly disobey Him. We deny ourselves and pick up our crosses in a
hostile world because a disciple is not above his master.
