Nichiren Shu and Zen at the Westgate, San Jose Temple -
The Nichiren Shu Temple (Myokakuji Betsuin) at 3570 Mona Way, in the
Westgate Section of San Jose, California is something very special,
quite different from the other 4 Nichiren Shu Temples in California,
and the rest in the U.S.
The San Jose Myokakuji Betsuin is a virtual Mini-Mall of Slander of
the Law.
(Is your local Nichiren Shu Temple becoming a Zendo? Keep an eye out
for this is the future, as Nichiren Shu finds even more novel ways to
keep the revenue stream coming in.)
The Temple on Mona Way is on a dead end street that leads to a weed
patch at the mouth of a storm drainage creek. Mona Way comes off of
Darryl Ave., between Hamilton and Payne next to the San Tomas
Expressway. On the other side of Payne, Darryl Ave. becomes Boynton
Ave. which for a few blocks is the highest crime rate spot in San Jose
(according to the Neighborhood Watch Police spokesman), and this
phenomenon is now explained.
Nichiren had strong opinions on slanderous sects of Buddhism, which
were based on studying the wrong translations of the sutras, and which
invariably led to upholding the wrong sutras over the Lotus Sutra
(against the will of the Buddha who expounded the sutras, Shakyamuni).
Of all the various slanders of Buddhism, Nichiren's dictum which dealt
with Zen is as follows:
"Zen is the work of devilish minds."
Is this not clear? Could this be MADE clearer? I think not.
And yet, at the San Jose Myokakuji Betsuin Temple of Nichiren Shu,
they study Zen in many forms...
1. Shorinji Kempo Karate.
=2E The Shorinji Kempo Dojo is located at this very same
=2E address. Not a coincidence, I think:

| - The World Shorinji Kempo Organization Official Website
| lists its Silicon Valley Branch at this location.

=2E The Kempo Karate people are very proud of their Zen
=2E heritage. If you do a Google search on "Kempo Karate
=2E Bodhidharma" you will get a thousand different hits with the
=2E history of Kempo and its founder Bodhidharma, the father of
=2E Zen, who added a physical Zen exercise to accompany
=2E meditation by the monks at the Shaolin Temple. To build up
=2E their bodies, with the purpose of violence, as Zen drained
=2E their compassion.
=2E
=2E Kempo Karate IS Physical Zen.
=2E
=2E I'm sure that having a Zendo located at a Nichiren Temple
=2E would utterly confound the Daishonin.
=2E
=2E Don't they care what he thinks? They should, because
=2E outrageous slander against the expressed admonition of the
=2E founder is no way to pay the rent. But I guess that is just
=2E the "Business of Buddhism" at Minobu Sect, Inc.
=2E
=2E Revenues have higher priority than the opinions of a person
=2E who's no longer around to harass the priests and force them
=2E to depart from their priestly ways, handed down for a
=2E thousand years, and more ... when the cat's away, the mice
=2E will play.
2. San Jose Kendo Dojo
=2E The San Jose Dojo for the Northern California Kendo
=2E Federation is also located at ... 3570 Mona Way !!!
=2E Surprise, surprise. At least on Thursdays. On Tuesdays it
=2E moves to the Jodo ****nshu Temple on 640 N. 5th St. San Jose.
=2E Isn't THAT nice.
=2E
=2E Question: What do Jodo ****nshu and Nichiren Shu Minobu Sect
=2E have in common in San Jose?
=2E
=2E Answer: They are both clearly manifesting their utter
=2E corruption by Zen.

=2E Kendo is the "way of the sword" in Japanese martial arts,
=2E with Bu****do underpinings. Kenjutsu (sword arts) broke into
=2E Kendo in the same year that Bu****do was formalized, in 1700
=2E CE, during the Tokugawa Era. The book that made the
=2E profoundly evil man D.T. Suzuki famous in his early Zen
=2E career, was a book on Kenjutsu. This book was admired by
=2E Eugen Herrigel of Erlangen/Nuremberg, who made his utterly
=2E deluded "Zen and the Art of Archery", which describes the
=2E murky transition from Ky=FBd=F5 to Ky=FBjutsu under Awa, his
=2E incredibly confused failure of a teacher. (See: "The Myth of
=2E Zen in the Art of Archery", Yamada Shoji, also see: "Nazi
=2E Eugen Herrigel and Zen in the Art of Arch- Fakery" posted in
=2E Alt.Zen)
=2E
=2E The Kendo and Bu****do people are very proud of their Zen
=2E heritage. If you do a Google search on "Kendo Bodhidharma"
=2E you will get eight hundred different hits, or with "Kendo
=2E Dogen" you will get five hundred different hits describing the
=2E history of Kendo and its ultimate founders Dogen of Japanese
=2E Zen, and Bodhidharma the father of Zen.
=2E
=2E Kendo IS Physical Zen.
=2E
=2E I'm sure that having a Zendo with a shared location between
=2E a Nichiren Temple AND a Jodo ****nshu Temple would utterly
=2E confound the Daishonin, even more than the one identified
=2E above in item #1.
=2E
=2E Don't they care what he thinks? Don't they remember the
=2E Daishonin's remarks about not even being able to speak the
=2E name Amida Buddha after practicing the Nembutsu as a child?
=2E How most of the misery of his life was attributable to that
=2E erroneous practice?
=2E
=2E Don't they even cast a thought to his wishes, and that which
=2E would wound him deeply? For them, he must truly be dead.
=2E
=2E I guess these considerations pale for them, when money is at
=2E stake, since hard cash is the lifeblood of all Japanese
=2E priests after the Tokugawas got through with them.
=2E
=2E All modern Buddhist priests make me sick !!!!
=2E
=2E EACH AND EVERY ONE !!!!
3. They also teach flower arranging (Ikebana Arts) and Japanese speech
(Tachibana) at 3570 Mona Way. Why? Well, with everything that goes on
under that profoundly evil roof ... those educational activities ALSO
become the source of further corruption of those seekers, as well.
And that is how you can utterly undermine your life by simply putting
flowers in a vase.

=46rom "The Entity of the Mystic Law", Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
p. 426 ...
In the final analysis, the meaning of the Lotus Sutra is that the
metaphor is none other than the entity of the Law and that the entity
of the Law is none other than the metaphor. That is why the Great
Teacher Dengyo in his commentary says: "The Lotus Sutra contains a
great many metaphors and parables. However, when it comes to the major
parables, we find that there are seven of them. These seven parables
are none other than the entity of the Law, and the entity of the Law
is none other than these metaphors and parables. Therefore, there is
no entity of the Law outside of the metaphors and parables, and there
are no metaphors and parables outside of the entity of the Law. In
other words, the entity of the Law refers to the entity of the truth
of the essential nature of phenomena, while the metaphors and parables
represent the entity of the Mystic Law as manifested in actual
phenomena. The manifestations are none other than the entity of the
truth, and the entity of the truth is none other than the
manifestations. Therefore, it can be said that the Law and its
metaphors constitute a single entity. This is why the passages from
the treatises and the annotations by the Tendai school all explain the
lotus as both the Law itself and a metaphor for it."
