You know what Jesus looked like? On what evidence? There are no
physical descriptions. You think Jesus looked like a tall bearded
Italian for the same reason you think Humpty Dumpty was an egg with a
pink face: somebody illustrated him that way and was copied. There's
no textual sup****t for either conjecture. Nor for the idea that Buddha
was a chubby man with a smile.
