"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country."

"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far
country." - Proverbs 25

Have you noticed lately there is so much bad news on TV and on the
internet? There has been so much talk about global warming, wars and
rumors or war, terrorism, crime, disease, death. etc.

Is there some good news out there?
The Bible says there is good news for all who are willing to take
time to hear:

1) God loves us and offers us the gift of eternal life in His Son!

John.3
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.

1John.5

[11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.
[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of
the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that
ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
[20] And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an
understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him
that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and
eternal life.

2) God is willing to forgive us and give us His grace when we turn to
Him in repentance and faith:

Eph.1
[7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph.2
[5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:

3) God promises to be with us even to end of the world:

Matt.28
[20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Amen.

Rom.8
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation,
or distress, or persecution, or famine, or ****dness, or peril, or
sword?
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4) God can give us peace in times of trouble:

Eph.2
[14] For he (Christ) is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath
broken
down the middle wall of partition between us;

John.14
[27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the
world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.

John.16
[33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.

5) God promises someday a new heaven and new earth:

Rev.21
[1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and
the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God
out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the
tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they
shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their
God.

6) God will remove our tears and sorrow:

Rev.21

[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there
shall
be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be
any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things
new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and
faithful.
[6] And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the
beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the
fountain of the water of life freely.

7) God will always be our Light and we will reign with Him forever
and ever:

Rev.21
1 [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to
****ne in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the
light thereof.

Rev.22
1 [5] And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle,
neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and
they shall reign for ever and ever.

8) We have this great hope because Jesus died and rose again as the
prophets said he would:

Pss.16

[10] For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou
suffer
thine Holy One to see corruption.

1Thes.4

[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning
them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them
also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent
them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the
dead
in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord.
[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

There is more good news hidden in the pages of the Bible ...you will
be blessed when you find these pearls of the gospel. Jesus said that
kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant who discovers a pearl of great
price.

"The kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly
pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and
sold all that he had, and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46

 I've found the Pearl of greatest price,
My heart doth sing for joy;
And sing I must, for Christ is mine;
Christ shall my song employ.

Christ is my Prophet, Priest and King;
A Prophet full of light,
My great High Priest before the throne,
My King of heav'nly might.

For He indeed is Lord of lords,
And He the King of kings;
He is the Sun of righteousness,
With healing in His wings.

Christ is my Peace; He died for me,
For me He gave His blood;
And as my wondrous Sacrifice,
Offered Himself to God.

Christ Jesus is my All in all,
My Comfort and my Love,
My Life below, and He shall be
My Joy and Crown above.
