THE LIFE TO COME?
About a terrible calamity
To read the Bible in one year, today read Job 19-21
To Know:
³Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God
the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ² (1 Thess.1: 1)
The eternal Son is now the everlasting man. The resurrection of Jesus
Christ
did more than merely prove who he was. The resurrection is on a par with
the
creation of the world. The existence of an eternal man means that the
created order must continue endlessly. The resurrection of Christ
necessitates changing the created order from decay to incorruptibility.
(Romans 8:21)
When the first creation came into being, we humans were the last in order
of
appearance. In the new creation, a man began the process. Jesus rose from
the dead never to die again and now the entire universe must be renovated
to
accommodate him. God the Son established a permanent union with the
man-child who formed in Maryıs womb. When that man returned to life from
death, the first individual man of Godıs new human race stood up upon the
earth. Any one who does not follow him into eternal life by placing his or
her faith in his name constitutes a calamity of cosmic pro****tions.
To Do:
Jesus is Godıs signpost on earth that there is, indeed, a future and a
hope.
The astounding fact of the resurrection of Jesus is this that eternal life
is now within easy reach of any one who will place their faith in his
name.
It is written, ³And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord
shall be saved.² (Acts 2:21) Not to call on Christ constitutes the most
tragic act of self-hate conceivable.
To Ask:
Father, I believe, help my unbelief. Free me within to place my unswerving
faith in the name of your Son. Grant that I may be counted among those who
have a share in eternal life.
