Devotional Guide For the week of May 11, 2008
MOTHERıS DAY
How God reveals His will
To read the Bible in one year, today read Psalms 129-131
To Know:
³From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a
God
besides thee, who works for those who wait for him.² (Is.64: 4)
These devotional guides are written to encourage a systematic reading of
the
Bible. The guides are organized to help provide a pace to encourage
reading
through the Bible once each year. Godıs word empowers faith. By his word,
God reveals his will. It is the will that we be conformed to the image of
Christ. When we learn from the Lord, he will work in and through our
lives.
Hearing the Lord means heeding the Lord and it is by such heeding that
faith
is both born and grows strong.
To Do:
The Bible builds expectation. We expect the Lord to do in our lives what
we
read in his word. In truth, the Lord will do far more than we can ask or
think. Set aside thirty minutes each day to read Godıs word. In less time
than it takes to watch the nightly news, you will acquire priceless
knowledge for Christian living.
To Answer:
Have you studied the scriptures to assure yourself that you properly
understand why Jesus needed to fulfill the law and the prophets?
Are you clear concerning the difference between legalistic righteousness
that relies on our work, and Christıs righteousness that resides in the
new
birth?
