Hubbards early basics had some merit... then the rip
off and science fiction started..that produced nut cases, in
and out of scientology.
Getting on the hubbard (we call him phatso) band wagon is
risky no matter which end... a few spin offs have been know
to help some people but most of those are not scientology like
in practice or approach... 1 800 idenics talk to mike...
would be interesting for you.
Find Enid Vien, Dynamism...in San Diego... she will be
interesting... Im not too hot on anyone else.

Hubbard kicked open that door... then sent his followers down
the tubes due to his own greed...such abuse is the base of
insanity and thats how he ended up...screamin'.. an ugly scene
but then Phatso asked for in spades all his life. He lied a
lot.
.... early on there was some workability with the 8008 series
etc... that was producing good results in a week or so, the
person would leave never to return and hubbard said on a tape
I heard on one of his courses (PTS/SP crse at flag) that he
was not able to fund his organization or recruit staff from
that....so a month later came the science fiction crap....
utterly fatal spin and the anti thesis of progress.
In 50 years there has not been ONE 'OT' produced inside the
cult... outside, using NON scn methods a few have advanced
quite well... not on the lines Hubbie was on...Hubbards roots
were in satanism, ego supremacy...that always ends badly.

There are many links with the SRI experiements etc.and with
Hubbards father to US naval intelligence (variable cover
stories)..I saw enough in side the organization to convince me
that non scns were running most or all of the show from 1978
or so forward.
I wouldnt be at all suprised if scientology was a CIA
experiment to see how ludicrious a concept the public could be
let to accept and then how long it would stick, and finally
what would be done about it.

Scientology has infiltrated and been accepted by many aspects
of the christian right... and in that contingent its not
unknown that phatso was a satanist... its driven by links to
Moon (unification cherch)..furning much of the republican
right..the neo-cons.
