- John 15:9-11 -
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my
love. If
you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my
Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my
joy
may be in you and that your joy may be complete."

When things go well we feel elated. When hard****ps come, we sink into
depression. But true joy transcends the rolling waves of cir***stance. Joy
comes
from a consistent relation****p with Jesus Christ. When our lives are
intertwined
with his, he will help us walk through adversity without sinking into
debilitating lows and manage prosperity without moving into deceptive
highs. The
joy of living with Jesus Christ daily will keep us level-headed, no matter
how
high or low our cir***stances.

November 1st - All Saints Day
The Church day by day gives special veneration to one or more of the holy
men
and women who have helped to establish it by their blood, develop it by
their
labors, or edify it by their virtues. But, in addition to those whom the
Church
honors by special designation or has inscribed in her calendar, how many
martyrs
are there whose names are not recorded! How many humble virgins and holy
penitents! How many unknown anchorites and monks, Christian fathers and
mothers,
young children snatched away in their innocence! How many courageous
Christians,
whose merits are known only to God and His heavenly court!
Should we forget those who remember us in their intercession? Are not some
among
them our ancestors? members of our immediate family? our friends and
fellow-Christians, with whom we have lived in daily companion****p? In
fact, all
of Heaven is but one family - Our Lord's, as He Himself said: "Who is My
mother
and who are My brethren? And stretching forth His hand towards His
disciples, He
said, Behold My mother and My brethren! For whoever does the Will of My
Father
in heaven, is My brother and sister and mother." Today we have the
op****tunity
to thank God, if at other times we forget, for their aid and their love.
And
today we adore Him with them, for the grace which raised them to their
present
joy. The Church requires this homage of us, by making this day a holy day
of
obligation for all. Our place, too, is awaiting us in this home of eternal
light, peace and love, if we persevere to the end in the fulfillment of
God's
holy Will.
Reflection: Let us be solicitous to render ourselves worthy of that chaste
generation, so beautiful amid the glory where it dwells. (Cf. Wisdom 4:1)

Bible Quote
And answering, he said to them: Go and relate to John what you have heard
and
seen: the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are made clean, the deaf
hear,
the dead rise again, to the poor the gospel is preached:
And blessed is he whosoever shall not be scandalized in me. (Luke
7:22-23)

Prayer To Our Lady of Prompt Succor
O, Mary, Mother of God, who, amidst the
tribulations of the world, watches over us and over
the Church of your Son, be to us and to the Church
truly OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR, make haste to help
us in all our necessities, that in this fleeting
life you may be our succor, and obtain for us (here
ask the particular favor you desire). Help us to
gain life everlasting through the merits of Jesus,
your Son, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
(partial indulgence)
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the
Father.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help
us. (Three times)
O Queen of the Universe, Our Lady of Prompt
Succor, sovereign full of kindness, you are the
advocate of sinners, a haven of safety to the
****pwrecked; you are the resource of the world, the
ransom of captives, the health of the infirm, the
consolation of the afflicted, the refuge and
salvation of all on earth. We beseech you to grant
us the help of your prayers, which incline our
Heavenly Father to forgive our sins and grant our
petitions in all the necessities of this miserable
life, prayers which obtain for us an abundance of
graces to receive the pardon of our faults and
arrive at the practice of virtue, prayers which stop
our enemies, confound their designs, and triumph
over their efforts. Amen. (partial indulgence)
