What are you thankful for?
Dear Lord I am thankful for many things, let me always remember to be
thankful.
I am thankful for----
being reunited with my wonderful sisters again, for their no-nonsense
strength and cheering of my spirit
my friends, that I have friends, new friends who make me want to be a
better
person and old friends who think I'm ok just the way I am, who never left
my confidante whose shoulder I can cry on, who encourages me just by
encouraging him
graceful people in difficult cir***stances, who show me how it is done
my greatest companion, my *****cat who reflects my daily moods and is ever
faithful
being able to walk in the daylight again, an easy carefree walk that takes
for granted the way one foot simply goes in front of the other
second chances
smiles and hellos
a fan blowing a soft breeze on my shoulder
being able to read a good book, it is like having lunch with the very best
sort of interesting folk
warm spicy soup and hot cornbread when it is raining outside
the Lord teaching me how to cook warm spicy soup and hot cornbread
the Lord teaching me how to make warm spicy soup and cornbread when I
didn't
have two nickels to rub together
the simple pleasure of having a clean home to live in, my own space
the astounding grace that I have kept my home, in spite of myself
the Lord leading me to people who helped me, I don't know what would have
happened to me without them
comic strips that make you laugh out loud---like pooch cafe
the unbelievable discovery of how safe a place the world really is when
you consider the alternative of a world of your own creation
the privilege of a healthy body and being able to go for a run in the
early
morning when all is still and calm before the world has its first coffee
my bike, given to me by a friend
a really good song just when you need it
water in any amount you need any time you need it just by turning a faucet
central heating
central air conditioning
being able to go to a store and buy what you need--we don't have to churn
butter, kill an animal, wait for the harvest
knowing You and feeling Your presence in sorrow, in the valleys, in the
sublime and the ridiculous
meeting failure with patience and perhaps even grace, I don't know what
the
Lord is doing, I don't have to know, but I do know He is doing a good work
on me and He will finish what He has begun
What are you thankful for?
