the Bible is a finished Book. God has since spoken. Rev. 22:18,19
Dan. 12:9
in these last days God has spoken through His Son. Heb. 1:1,2
it is Holy Scripture and it alone which is the only trustworthy rule
of faith and practice ( 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:19-21 )
since the Bible is finished, claiming to have a prophetic revelation
is wholly outside of Scripture; not comparable to Scripture as though
to ' test the spirits ' ...but wholly outside of Scripture and
therefore God did not speak that prophecy.
the devil is a deceiver who uses Holy Scripture as one of his tools to
ensnare the sons of Adam away from the Truth contained in the written
Word. what better way to deceive than to taint the things of God with
false doctrine coming from a person claiming to have received an
utterance from God ?
arriving after the last revealed Word was written, and groomed by the
devils lies, the prophet lives his or her life in alienation from
God... coupled with a desire to be counted among Gods elect but after
his or her own design, these get the attention they so desire by
claiming they are the source of Divine Revelation.
this is the first and utmost cause to reject all those who have
visions, dream dreams, speak in tongues, perform miracles, fall over
backwards, claim infallibility, play rock and roll in their churches
calling it reverenced music, and claim prophecy as though it came from
God.
the second most dangerous character of todays prophets are those who
mix some Bible truth with the devils lies. such error as claiming to
be infallible, as with the popes; claiming justification is by keeping
the Law, as with the Adventists; claiming salvation is by decision
making, as with the Evangelicals and Pentecostal types and so on...
these merit a closer look into Holy Scripture since what they claim is
nearly Gods revealed truth, but isn't. it is Gnosticism. it is the
desire to be wise but without God.
the Word of God is final. it alone is the only rule of faith and
practice. the sum of Gods Word is truth. ( Ps. 119:160 ) if someone
coming alone these days claims to have a revealed Word of God then
that Word is counted as truth... therein comes an opportunity for the
devil... the Bible is finished... God has spoken to us through His Son
Jesus Christ ( Heb. 1:2 ; Luk. 9:35 ) who needs anything more than the
Written Word ?
it is from the Written Word that the Spirit of God illuminates Gods
Truth, Jesus Christ, to the chosen of God. Joh. 15:26
