Bible Reading for May 10

CHAPTER 88
Psalms 88:1
1 A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon
Mahalath
Leannoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite. O LORD God of my salvation,  I
have
cried  day  and night  before thee:
Psalms 88:2
2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
Psalms 88:3
3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the
grave.
Psalms 88:4
4 I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that
hath
no strength:
Psalms 88:5
5 Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou
rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
Psalms 88:6
6 Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
Psalms 88:7
7 Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy
waves. Selah.
Psalms 88:8
8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an
abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
Psalms 88:9
9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily
upon
thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
Psalms 88:10
10 Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise
thee?
Selah.
Psalms 88:11
11 Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness
in
destruction?
Psalms 88:12
12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the
land
of forgetfulness?
Psalms 88:13
13 But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer
prevent thee.
Psalms 88:14
14 LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
Psalms 88:15
15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy
terrors I am distracted.
Psalms 88:16
16 Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
Psalms 88:17
17 They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about
together.
Psalms 88:18
18 Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into
darkness.
CHAPTER 89
Psalms 89:1
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD
for
ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Psalms 89:2
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness
shalt
thou establish in the very heavens.
Psalms 89:3
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my
servant,
Psalms 89:4
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all
generations. Selah.
Psalms 89:5
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also
in
the congregation of the saints.
Psalms 89:6
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons
of
the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
Psalms 89:7
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had
in reverence of all them that are about him.
Psalms 89:8
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy
faithfulness round about thee?
Psalms 89:9
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou
stillest them.
Psalms 89:10
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast
scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
Psalms 89:11
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and
the
fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
Psalms 89:12
12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall
rejoice in thy name.
Psalms 89:13
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Psalms 89:14
14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth
shall go before thy face.
Psalms 89:15
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O
LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
Psalms 89:16
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness
shall they be exalted.
Psalms 89:17
17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn
shall be exalted.
Psalms 89:18
18 For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Psalms 89:19
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid
help
upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
Psalms 89:20
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Psalms 89:21
21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen
him.
Psalms 89:22
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict
him.
Psalms 89:23
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that
hate
him.
Psalms 89:24
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name
shall
his horn be exalted.
Psalms 89:25
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Psalms 89:26
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my
salvation.
Psalms 89:27
27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Psalms 89:28
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand
fast with him.
Psalms 89:29
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the
days
of heaven.
Psalms 89:30
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Psalms 89:31
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
Psalms 89:32
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity
with stripes.
Psalms 89:33
33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor
suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Psalms 89:34
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of
my
lips.
Psalms 89:35
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
Psalms 89:36
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Psalms 89:37
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness
in heaven. Selah.
Psalms 89:38
38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine
anointed.
Psalms 89:39
39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his
crown by casting it to the ground.
Psalms 89:40
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong
holds
to ruin.
Psalms 89:41
41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
Psalms 89:42
42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all
his enemies to rejoice.
Psalms 89:43
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to
stand in the battle.
Psalms 89:44
44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the
ground.
Psalms 89:45
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with
shame. Selah.
Psalms 89:46
46 How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn
like fire?
Psalms 89:47
47 Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in
vain?
Psalms 89:48
48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver
his
soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
Psalms 89:49
49 Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto
David in thy truth?
Psalms 89:50
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom
the reproach of all the mighty people;
Psalms 89:51
51 Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have
reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
Psalms 89:52
52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
CHAPTER 90
Psalms 90:1
1 A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling
place
in all generations.
Psalms 90:2
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the
earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Psalms 90:3
3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
Psalms 90:4
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night.
Psalms 90:5
5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the
morning they are like grass which groweth up.
Psalms 90:6
6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut
down, and withereth.
Psalms 90:7
7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
Psalms 90:8
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light
of
thy countenance.
Psalms 90:9
9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a
tale that is told.
Psalms 90:10
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of
strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow;
for it is soon  cut off,  and we fly away.
Psalms 90:11
11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is
thy wrath.
Psalms 90:12
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto
wisdom.
Psalms 90:13
13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy
servants.
Psalms 90:14
14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all
our days.
Psalms 90:15
15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and
the years wherein we have seen evil.
Psalms 90:16
16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their
children.
Psalms 90:17
17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou
the
work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
