Devotional Guide For the week of April 27, 2008
TRUST
To read the Bible in one year, today read Psalms 88-90
To Know:
³Which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made
him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and
authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not
only in this age but also in that which is to come; and he has put all
things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the
church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.²
(Eph.1: 20-23)
³All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; and all
the
families of the nations shall worship before him. For dominion belongs to
the Lord, and he rules over the nations.² (Ps.22: 27,28) The Psalmist
predicted that the Lord would one day manifest his rule over all the earth
and the apostles proclaimed that the Lord is Jesus. Christ overruled men
and
history when he rose from the dead and displayed his power over death. The
apostle Paul wants us to know, that when he rose we who believe rose with
him and therefore ought to seek to extend his reign everywhere by our
testimony to him.
To Answer:
Do we open the Bible before we ask the Spirit of God for enlightenment
regarding what we are about to read?
Have we disengaged ourselves from the false hopes offered by this world?
Do we trust that all God has promised will come true?
Do we live with the conscious realization that everything God asks of us
he
has also provided for us in Christ?
